When you are planning gay romantic getaways for two, the question comes up about choosing a destination. Do you plan a destination based solely on its merits or do you go through a structured getaway because it caters to the GLBT community? There are different answers with different benefits and drawbacks.
A gay romance vacation is often the result of one or two different desires. You either wish to spend some time together or you wish to go to a certain destination. When you want to end up at a specified destination you might not be able to find a structured vacation planned for the area. If it becomes important to get to the vacation spot then you’ll probably end up taking that option. If all you want is some special time together then you have more options.
You can have a lot of fun on your own provided that you did your research. Making sure that the country and its laws are gay friendly is highly recommended and that you get a feel for whether or not you’re likely to be left alone so you can get on with your business. Once you know these things then you can plan out the perfect getaway for the two of you.
What is it that you are looking to gain from this little getaway? What does romance actually mean to the two of you? Are you up for fun, adventure, and daring new events? Or do you prefer room service and a hotel room that doesn’t force you to see the light of day unless you choose to? Maybe you’re looking for a little of both?
While booking through a structured vacation package gives you access to all kinds of great destinations and fun things to do, the more important point for many is that you suddenly will have all kinds of real freedom. Your hometown might not react well to hand holding but when it comes to gay romantic trips you get to finally let your hair down and stop the self editing. You are allowed to be who you are without the scowls, the threats, the name calling, and all that other junk in their trunk. You’re just you being you.
Most people are well aware that you can book a gay cruise as one of your destination choices. This is true and quite frankly it is something that all of us should experience. You’ll never have another vacation like a gay cruise. These are not the only destinations available, and many couples are surprised to realize just how many different vacations they can design that caters to them.
Of course, you’re going to want more options than just cruises. The cool thing about going through structured agencies that cater to the GLBT community is that you can pick from tons of spots, because they work with you to get it done. Overseas visits, ski resorts, safaris, and hot little islands in the South Pacific are a few of the choices you have. Creating some really nice scenery can do wonders for that little romantic getaway.
If you’re going it alone you just can’t have the same freedom that structured gay romantic vacations offer you. There isn’t the same sense of privacy. Sure, spending a weekend in a hotel room can be romantic when it’s your choice. A week isn’t quite as romantic.
